The mission of ATOMS is to increase accessibility to those interested in using machine learning in marine science. This toolkit serves as a guide for those interested in applying Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning methods to image-based datasets, and is aimed primarily at individuals with little to no experience with Artificial Intelligence.

ATOMS covers the topics: datasets, annotations, Machine Learning tasks, running a CV model, and understanding metrics.

For those with little to no Machine Learning experience it is recommended to proceed through the toolkit in order.

The layout also provides the option to jump between categories for those with more experience or specific interests.
